Overview
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a fast-paced, hands-on, scenario-based course designed to prepare you to deal with injury and illness in austere environments. It is generally the minimum certification for camp staffers and trip leaders, and a great introduction to wilderness medicine and basic life support skills.
WFA is a relevant course whether you already have standard first aid training or no first aid training at all. Our instructors combine lectures and realistic hands-on scenarios to challenge you and teach you to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Some of the topics we will cover include scene safety assessment, airway management, bleeding control, fractures, spinal injuries, shock, injury management, and patient packaging.
This course includes American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED.
